MISSIONS and MINISTRIES

River of Life Christian Church takes a percentage of all donations to support missionaries and mission organizations all over the world. Check out our current list of Missionaries and Ministries that we partner with (*please note that missionaries in sensitive regions are not listed*):

ACT (Against Child Trafficking)

ACT United (Anti Child Trafficking) is based out of Carver County and began in 2015 to fill a gap in anti-trafficking efforts. They work out of a local church and their mission is to unite communities together in awareness, prayer, and prevention to end the sexual exploitation and trafficking of children and teens.

They approach youth sexual exploitation and trafficking from a public health perspective using the latest research as well as direct service experience and survivor expertise to inform their training and prevention strategies. Their strategies engage and equip the whole community and empower youth with the edu cation, skills, and resources they need for real prevention, resilience, and leadership development.

The #1 pathway for both sextortion and sex trafficking is by building relationships. Predators create the kind of relationships children and teens run to, not from. They work to get ahead of this in prevention. They have a Youth Aware program that does just that!

Alan & Judy Naumann

We support Alan & Judy Naumann - the Godly couple that was so instrumental in building River of Life church. Through a series of events that totally had to be God ordained, Judy and Alan came from Minneapolis all the way to Winsted and started preaching, twice a month! They often express appreciation for River of Life and the unique ministry that has been established.

Rev Alan Naumann is ordained with the Evangelical Free Church of America and has ministered in the Twin Cities since 1974. He is well known and respected by those who work in the funeral industry and is often called upon to conduct funeral and memorial services because of his love of people and his ability to personalize the service.

Alan and Judy met at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago and have been married since 1966. They have three grown children and nine grandchildren. Judy still works 3 full days a week and Alan is on call 7 days a week for preaching and officiating at funerals.

Please pray for this dear couple. They are in constant communication with many families and people they have ministered to. Pray for wisdom for them to be able to set priorities and boundaries and also know that sometimes it’s okay to say No. Pray for their relationships with their kids & families as they are scattered over 4 states. Pray for their health and safety and protection over them! Lastly, with the economy as it is, we pray for their finances and wisdom in such. We pray their money can stretch to pay all the bills and that God gives them wisdom as to any financial decisions.

We thank you and love you Alan & Judy!

Gene & Irina Mintz

Ephesians 5:16 “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

Gene & Irina Mintz are missionaries in Yarensk, the Arkhangelskaya region of Russia. Through a prison Chaplain, Dale Tweedy, Gene became a Christian in a Russian prison in 2001. He was released from prison in 2002 but after his court was revised, he was sent back to prison for 11 years. Gene led many fellow inmates to Christ during that time , even serving in a pastor capacity! Gene met Irina in church, and they were married in 2014. Irina has been a Christian since 1992. In 2017, Gene visited an ex-inmate friend whom he had led to Christ. He stayed with him for 6 months and then returned to Moscow. God decided He wanted a church in Yarensk and called Gene and Irina back to start one! The population of Yarensk is around 5000. Primarily, the population consists of descendants of ex convicts and exiles’ going back to tsarist times. Drug and alcohol addiction is common. As Gene says, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few”.

Gene and Irina’s basic expenses run $500-600 per month, and we proudly support this Godly couple. With the unrest going on in Russia, Gene and Irina desperately need our prayers and the Holy Spirit’s protection.

Hope Harbor

“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:19

Hope Harbor operates as a Christian ministry, committed to serving teens, ages 12-17, providing another option for families seeking healing and reconciliation. Families receiving services from Hope Harbor are seeking help and healing for their teen involved in various behaviors that are harmful to themselves and others and find hope in a small, family style setting. Their vision is to renew minds, restore relationships and further the kingdom of God. With three locations: a boys’ home in Parker, SD, a girls’ home in Winona, MN and a girls’ home in Marshall, MN, God’s love (along with counselors and other volunteers) surround the teens 24/7. Hope Harbor transforms lives through a cohesive program including education, biblical counsel, life skills and spiritual growth all focused on restoration to the family unit. Hope Harbor exists to provide a safe, voluntary long term program where teens can discover who they are in Christ and to promote lasting healing.

Open Doors

River of Life supports Open Doors USA. Open Doors USA is dedicated to the radical idea that every Christian belongs to one Church and one Family. For over 60 years, Open Doors has worked toward a simple goal: strengthening Christians, whenever they are threatened for their faith in Jesus.

Brother Andrew began Open Doors, focusing on the scripture Revelation 3:2, Strengthen what remains. That is still what drives Open Doors. Whether believers need long term or emergency aid, Open Doors is there. W hen Christians don’t have access to bibles, Open Doors is there. When believers are thrown out of their homes and forced to flee their families, Open Doors is there. When Christians are persecuted, attacked, discriminated against, and targeted because they follow Jesus, Open Doors is there.

Open Doors is non-denominational and whenever people suffer or are discriminated against because they believe in the name of Jesus, Open Doors is there. Period. They believe that the church of Jesus transcends any local or cultural differences; the cause of Christ unites us all. They finish their “What They Believe” by saying it is summed up in the words of the Apostles’ Creed.
