Crown College in St. Bonifacius will be hosting an open house for current high school sophomores and juniors, and their parents, who are interested in post secondary enrollment option (PSEO) courses next fall. The open house information session will take place at River of Life Christian Church, 170 Main Avenue West in Winsted.
Crown has offered PSEO classes for more than a decade at its St. Bonifacius location, and in conjunction with some area private schools. In 2014, Crown added PSEO classes online, and this year are working with several homeschool groups to offer classes at a location convenient for them. Because Crown is regionally accredited, the credits will transfer to most colleges and universities in the US. Course offerings are designed to meet general education requirements of most liberal arts institutions.
Crown plans to offer three or four classes in Winsted for high school juniors and seniors (homeschool, public, or private) interested in taking free college classes. The 15-week classes are designed specifically for high school students, and are taught by supportive teachers who are engaged in students’ learning. Typical weekly assignments include readings, discussion forums, quizzes, and papers.
